Why not make your nachos with Grainful's Vegetarian Chili, for a quick and healthy Cinco De Mayo Snack!
Ever thought of making your mexican salad with the 100% All Natural Unstuffed Pepper? With the Turkey and cheese already included, you won't even need a dressing for this hearty meal!
HERE ARE FOUR MORE OAT INCLUSIVE RECIPES TO SPICE UP YOUR CINCO DE MAYO AND EVERy MEAL AFTER THAT!
ATOLE DE AVENA
Atole de Avena is essentially Oat Horchata, a warm milky oat drink made with cinnamon meant to soothe. Vianney shared this recipe from her childhood on her blog Sweet Life. This drink is made with Pilocillo which is an ingredient similar to brown sugar with a light molasses flavor (without actually containing molasses). This steamy snack is a great way to start your Cinco De Mayo, but it will also start your new relationship with Agua Frescas!
Traditional Mexican fare can really add up calorically. Why not try out a lighter, vegetarian dish like RunStretchGo’s? With the addition of black beans AND oats, you’ll be feeling more energized and fuller long after you’ve cleaned your plate. (And you will DEFINITELY clean your plate!!)
Mexican Hot Chocolate Oatmeal
Mexican hot chocolate is a spicy chocolate drink traditionally made with chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, chillies, anise and other spices. It is often made with a bitter chocolate mix known as Mexican Chocolate. Meghan at Oatgasm shared her spin on the classic. She admits that the idea of chocolate and spice might seem odd but describes it as an “enticing contradiction.” It's a must try!
Mexican Chocolate No-Bake Cookies
These addictive no-bakes are easy and delicious. They’ll be a true crowd-pleaser, that is if you’re willing to share! Chocolate-Covered Kate posted this great recipe on her Healthy Dessert Blog and we just can’t get enough of ‘em!
